THE CLAY SHOOT

The club has been holding annual clay shoots for many years and it has been held at many different venues.  This has also turned into a family event, as the club will also have a BBQ, Raffle and occasionally a gun dog scurry which has turned out to be a lot of fun, and it picks out the useless gun dogs from the top dogs (or so the owners like to think). The clay shoot is a charity event and all the money raised goes to one of our adopted charities all very worthy cause's one is the Children's Hospice South West which we have been raising money for.

The clay shoot is a fun event that the members and the general public take part in, there are many prizes awarded for the clay shoot. The clay shoot is a time that the wildfowlers can show off their shooting skills or not as the case maybe.

This year 2001 Les Oldham instigated and organized and hosted the day in aid of the RNLI with a Gundog scurry and team event run by The North Devon Working Gundog Club. The club ran the clay shoot and its annual shoot with the proceeds going to another of our adopted charities.

The day raised the most money in one event for the RNLI in the SW

Les again this year 2002 hosted another day for the RNLI The North Devon Working Gundog Club ran a working test a Have a Go clay stand was very successful as was the Air Rifle Have a Go run by This year the attendance by the public was vastly up. A BBQ and Boat trip auction was held after the shoot which raised more cash
